Working on your mental health
Over the years, I have read, I’ve journaled, I’ve had some brilliant counselling and more recently I have a mindset practice. Whenever I mention working on my mental health, I am asked for more details. I’ve listed out all the practices that have worked for me, in case they help someone else.
Journals I’ve used
The 5-minute journal paper and app
Mind Muscle Project Training Journal
High Performance Journal and High Performance Planner by Brendon Burchard
Mindset work I am currently doing
Mindset work with Mindset Rx'D: I am currently a member of Mindset Rx’D, it requires journalling once a day and it is helping me find clarity and focus.
Coaching I have done in the past
1:1 Coaching with Growth approximately every 7-10 days since April 2019: Developing clarity, decision-making and routines to fulfil my vision.
Counselling and Hypnotherapy with Lisa Wood: I did sessions with Lisa throughout the end of 2019 and most of 2020. She helped me find clarity to a lot of issues I had tried to ignore.
Other counselling I have done in the past
Counselling with Karen Leatherbarrow. Karen helped me to find clarity after the passing of my dad.
Counselling (over the phone) with www.kingdomcompassion.com/counseling: These sessions helped me make sense and process career and life changes.
Habits of the Heart, a year-long course run by Agape. The course looked at a wide range of habits from our relationships to our time in nature, spending 2 months on each habit. There was also excellent reading material alongside it.
Naked Hedgehogs, a course on becoming more vulnerable run by Sarah Abell, followed by 1:1 sessions. This course is no longer available but Sarah now runs relationship counselling here: https://therelationshipsacademy.com/.
Get in touch if you are looking to start a practice for your mental health but you are not sure where to start. I’d love to help you think it through.
